Using the Date Analysis Engine

This topic describes how to use the Date Analysis Engine to calculate what day of the week a specific date is.
The Date Analysis Engine calculates the day of the week for any date in the range 1 January 1583-31 December 3000. Due to the introduction of the Gregorian calendar in 1582, dates cannot be correlated to days of the week prior to this time. The Date Analysis Engine has hundreds of handy uses - for example, you can plan your next year's holidays, or work out the day of the week on which you were born.
Note: To calculate days of the week for dates prior to 1 January 1970, you must buy the Deluxe Edition of World Time Pro.
  1. Select Options > Date Analysis Engine. The Date Analysis Engine window opens.
  2. Select the date from the Day drop-down box, and the month from the Month drop-down box.
  3. Type the year in the Year field.
  4. (Optional) Uncheck Display Calendar. The calendar pane will not display the calendar for the month and year you enter.
  5. Click Analyze.
The day of the week appears in the Day Of The Week field and, if Display Calendar is selected, the calendar for the month and year you entered appears in the calendar pane.
For example, to calculate the day of the week that 2 February 2000 fell on, open the Date Analysis Engine. Select 2 from the Day drop-down box, select February from the Month drop-down box, and type 2000 in the Year field. Click Enter. The result of Thursday appears in the Day Of The Week field, and the calendar for February 2000 appears in the calendar pane.
